There’s a great place to swim in the lake about 600 yards south east of Pooley Bridge opposite Scotgate camp site

Greystoke Castle is worth a view - nice grounds ,head west on the A66 from P’rith and you’ll see signs for it

National Trust - Aira Force and Gowbarrow Park is lovely. If the main car park is full you can drive round the corner to a quieter one and get to the waterfalls that way. There is also a lovely 2.5 mile walk around brothers water a couple of miles from ullswater and usually quiet there. Ace scenery surrounded by the fells.

Great spot as well past the Ullswater Inn. Usually free from boats that in corner. If you have a kayak or a strong swimmer can get over to the other side and a lovely little pebble beach at side farm campsite.
