Its gonna be absolutely boss when all the various outlets are eventually open. Hats off to anyone who had the foresight to buy up a building and start renovating it.

Its like County Road without the day shoppers and the pain in the arse road crossing.

Could do with a few chippies for midweek tea and a couple of corner shops for that can of coke and bar of chocolate before heading for the journey home feeling.

Was going to do a pub crawl down there this Saturday.

Terrace bar?
Titanic bar?, can non residents go in there?

The point he makes, Hanratty, is valid, if left unchecked it will become a mess of shite gaffs that don’t really serve the community or have lasting impact. Then if someone wants to come in and do something lasting, the land/building has gone.

He can't have it both ways though, stifling investment on one hand by refusing to properly invest in transport infrastructure for the area and then complaining when the type of the type of developer he's after doesn't come forward.

I cant see what other premises will open. Would you open a clothes shop or butchers there knowing the main footfall would be football fans and the transport links are rubbish?

There’s already a butchers then along with an offy, a chippy, and most importantly a Greggs.
I mentioned to the butcher they would clean up once BMD was up and running if they added cooked chickens, breast, legs and meats, burgers etc straight out the oven. He replied they researched it and it’s not allowed through H&S issues.
Yet I recall a butcher on Breck Road having cooked chicken on a spit.

This is certainly true, although legacy and community too often in these instances means parceling and packaging space up to sell to big developers, who then whack some godawful setup there.

Be interesting to see what other plans if any have been thrown around.

It does need restaurants and shops and stuff, but then to do that you're going to have to increase the rail/transport situation which Rotheram seems to be set against doing.
