I'm from the same town and was in the same class at school as the Chief Scientific Adviser ( CSA ) for the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero ( DESNZ ).

On the strength of myko not being very good at football, at all like, people were saying he was MOM in some games last season because he made 1 decent tackle & 1 good cross, overlooking the number of times he misplaced passes, getting beaten by a man & being generally shit at this football thing

That's clearly not true though is it.

He may go on to be a good player for us but he looks totally out of his depth here.

Mykolenko is a perfectly decent left back but gets slaughtered coz people associate him with benitez.

You have to allow young kids to make mistakes in order to learn and develop. He can obviously play football, just needs to understand the nuts and bolts. It's only a problem if he's still making rudimentary mistakes 2 or 3 years down the line, see Patterson for example.

I'm not talking about his mistake for the goal mate.

It's the fact he got caught out of position on half a dozen occasions and looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights.

There's no way I'd be playing him at Leeds on today's evidence.

Agreed but he still has to be given opportunities where possible to get to grips with it. Probably best to go out on loan at the end of the month, got to play, you don't learn sat on your arse.

Completely agree re the loan mate.

I'm certainly not writing the kid off after one friendly game, but he looks far from ready right now for the prem.

But doubt the loan will happen, especially if mykolenko is out for a cpl of months.
