The Southampton chairman basically said yesterday he's agreed to join Everton. He's training alone at our request so he doesn't get injured and the sale falls through. There's just 3.5m to sort out in the payment scheme but the press are insinuating there's a big fall out with Everton which is far from the truth as we are working closely with them. Dibling has said he only wants Everton.

But that was yesterday and things can change very quickly.

I was going to mention the same sort of thing on this thread but you have covered bases, I have a mate related to him, and although he's been only talking to his dad sam has said its not dead yet, but agreement is nowhere near sorted yet

Tyler wants the move as he believes a good season in the Premier could give him an outside chance of the England squad in a world cup year

The club have come in for loads of stick from the fans down here for not accepting the deal and moving the goal posts. The vast majority want him sold as soon as possible so that they can start recruiting.

Yes I saw that - he also said that they won’t budge on the valuation or terms.

If it’s just a £3.5m difference then that sounds promising.
The 25% sell on feels like a bigger problem to me.

They are desperate for other clubs to bid and make it an auction but I don’t think anyone else has bid yet.

It depends on if it's 25% of the profit on any future sale. If we buy for 50 and sell for 70 Southampton would get a further 5 million. I don't think that would scupper a deal. If it's 25% of just any future sale then it should be a non starter

It never works the other way round does it? We buy him for 50 million he turns out to be shit and we sell him for 10 million, so 25% of what we gave them that they have to give back to us. I should be doing the negotiations for us I reckon.

I read yesterday, it's a sliding scale, so 15% of profit between 50-60 million, 20% if the sales is 60-70 million and 35% if the fee is 70 million plus.

If he's anywhere near the player they think he's gonna be then the first two are going to be irrelevant.
