Not defending any of them in any way, but don't they all generate/make enormous amounts of income either thru huge support/stadia quality and local add-on investment/location and/or corporate facilities. Add the grotesque favourable TV coverage and bingo, they will always have more to spend

I forgot to mention the ridiculous accounting shenanigans that exempt the rich 6 too. Not a cat in hell's chance that £40mill covid allowance randomly afforded to Man U would've been allowed for any of the 14. Also, not a chance we would've been allowed to sell property or the women's team to ourselves if Chelsea hadn't done it first.

It's very obvious to an Evertonian or someone who ends up with a knowledge as you do from being on here.

We went bust on our 105m because we didn't have a seperate stadium bank account. Our mitigations were (from memory):

Sigurdsons wages

Loss of funding due to Ukraine (only club with a Russian investor building a stadium)

Loss of stadium naming rights due to Ukraine.

All of which are far less spurious than utd or Chelsea.

How can you tell if someone is a Kopite? If the hat, scarf, T shirt or tattoo isn't enough of a clue, they will have told you within two sentences. Basically, it's a cult.

Yes, but they reached that position by being able to spend freely. Once they're all £300m a year ahead of everyone, PSR magically became an enforceable thing- definitely nothing to do with us threatening them.

From that point, nobody can spend enough money to build the size and quality of squad that ensures continual European football that adds major revenue and continues the exposure that ensures they all have commercial revenue that blows everyone out of the water.

They lifted the ladder up with them. Nobody else has qualified for CL in two consecutive seasons, as the physical demands are too high, and the wages become impossible to keep up with. When the 6th highest earning club pretty much doubles the 7th, there's always going to be a minimum £250mill gap.

Rinse and repeat.

It took 14 clubs at least to vote in FFP then PSR. The less well off sides took the view that it would stop promoted teams from competing and therefore protecting their place in the league. This has worked.

These clubs are just as culpable as the rich six!

And can we leave city out of this. fFP was brought in with the specific aim of stopping city competing. And as a consequence they are the only club to have consistently voted against it. Much to the annoyance of Liverpool, United and arsenal.

£105million deficit over 3 years was a completely different proposition in 2013 compared to now. Transfer fees and wages have more pretty much trebled since then. Ozil going to Arsenal was £42m, and was huge news. That doesn't even get you at the table to discuss Tyler Dibling.

Most clubs outside the 6 only had ambitions to stay on the PL gravy train, so no way they were rocking the apple cart or upsetting the boat.

I didn't say what you think I said. You presumed too much. Anyway, I see a gap, not a gulf. If gthere was a gulf, the likes of Forest recently, would not have happened.
