Roma game plans

I’ll be flying solo so a stroll down from Lime St with a couple of drinks on the way. Any good spots near the ground? I’ve absolutely no idea apart from Ten street social

Drive up to my mates in Bebington from Wolverhampton. Drop my car off at his and then go over with him and his brother. Hopefully we can find somewhere close to park as my mate has Parkinson's and is struggling to walk these days. Hopefully see Everton play well and give me a little bit of confidence for the season. Then back to Wolverhampton for a night out and the WV1FEST on Sunday.

Drive down there about 12, try and find the mysterious blue badge parking zones.
Drive round for an hour then give up and go home and rip up my season ticket…….oh hang on.

Murphy's is next door and Invisible Wind Factory not far away too. I'd imagine the Bramley Moore will be packed out the door?

There seems to be tons of places set to open but not many seem all that good at social media so it's hard to work out how far along with progress most of them are. The Terrace is pretty much opposite and that had opened on Friday. Still a few teething issues to sort out but they'll be open for the Roma game. No ideas on any of the others.

As for established places, there's also Fliers, the indoor golf place has a bar and they're pushing themselves to the matchgoing crowd and pretty sure I saw Meraki's beer garden open for the last event too.

The glasshouse on vauxhy will be popular I reckon.

About a 5 to 10 minute max walk straight under the arch tunnels and any of the side streets.

No further than the black horse or glebe from goodison. Run by a blue (I think).

That Blackstone warehouse are pushing for custom despite being a box park-esque hotbed of lfc'ism since it opened with regards live matches so I'll be massively swerving them.

Do you mean Blackstock Market? Shame that, I'd thought they'd seemed quite level in that respect but I still haven't been. They seemed to make a point of being neutral when Boxpark fucked it that first derby they were open but don't know if that was just opportunism to capitalise on Boxpark's own goal. They seem to have a lot of those ex-player events for both clubs though. I know they went in hard with the likes of them winning the league but you'd expect most places if they were properly neutral to do similar really?

I thought The Glasshouse had closed down years ago. I've been the Eagle and The Castle along there in the last few years and was thinking they'd be options but they seem further away on the map than I'd thought. Google Maps has The Glasshouse at somewhat over a mile away so not sure about doing that in 5-10 mins really.

Either way I get what you're saying about comparable distances to the Glebe or the Black Horse but feel like they're in good spots because they're handy for people getting away afterwards down the Drive or whatever. Just feel like most people walking to town will head down the Dock Road.

I may be being harsh but I just thought they went proper overboard about their games towards the end of last season.

Amd I prefer a proper pub. Glasshouse is defo still open, even though it doesn't look it.

Cut down chisenhale st, oil st and you're virtually there.

I've just done a Google maps walk, and it's miles off. Sending you all over the place.

Big factor for me will be plastic pint glasses. I'll avoid anywhere with those, which will rule out anywhere in very close proximity to the ground.

Nice one will defo check the Glasshouse out at some stage. Yeah kinda feel you got done for plazzy glasses by Goodison at times but not normally for too long either side of the game and you were always in close walking distance of somewhere you can drink out of a proper glass. Bonus is I can see a lot more of these gaffs having better ale choice than some of the boozers by Goodison.

We’ve been looking at that golf place, think they’re doing packages for the season, my mate knows the owner. Like I say it’s going to be a season before it all settles down.

Yeah definitely. I'm kinda excited at the prospect to be honest. I was always worried that we'd end up in some soulless retail park in the middle of nowhere and like so many of the grounds that popped up at the turn of the century would just have some massive soulless newbuild chain pub as the only place in walking distance to grab a pint.

I'm going with my brother, pretty exciting for us as despite both being lifelong blues we have NEVER been to a match together before.

Gonna get dropped off by the wife as near to the ground as possible then have a mooch at what hostelries are available pre-entering the plaza, any advice as to what has gone up since the 2nd test event and isn't more than a five min walk away would be much appreciated.

It’s all a bit up in the air and I think it will be for a while, where gonna get the train to moorfields and go the cross keys.

I'm also a lone wolf this time. Just going to drive in, booked someone's drive near the ground.

Mainly want to have a good look around the ground, see the everton way stuff etc.

Looks like you have to be quick, but if you've got a season ticket could book quite a few in advance.

Some of them look miles away which is putting me off.

It's ridiculous that we are having to sweat about where to park a car to go to a purpose built stadium that is surrounded by wasteland.

I know others think differently but the location of BMD is the worst thing about it IMO.
