Everton have submitted a third bid for Southampton’s Tyler Dibling. Initial was £27m, around £35m towards end of last week and now package nearer £40m. [@_pauljoyce]

That seems like quite a lot of money.

He's a good player, like, but pretty flaky, even by flakiest crumbliest winger standards. If you're still going 'bear pit' at the Hill Dickinson, then I'm not sure he'll be very keen when things aren't going well.

Looks like he is being 'held to ransom' over land they need for their new ground.
They want to pay £40M. Freightliner, who own the land and would need to relocate their business if they sold it, want £400M.

Simply because of the seller states their price first the buyer knows they’ve asked for more than their real number. And obviously if the buyer offers first the seller knows they’ve lowballed.
It’s not a yes or no scenario, it’s horse trading.
