I understand that he can't actually bat, but if Brook can farm the strike and leave Tongue facing one ball an over, then if Tongue gets out, Brook is on strike for the new over, surely Woakes could stand at the Non striker's end while Brook tries to whack a few more runs.

And if he does so and doesn't get a single at the end of the over the Indians will just pepper an already injured bowler

I was thinking just for an over, if Brook could get another 10, that could be worth quite a lot in a low scoring match. I wasn’t suggesting he should face a delivery
