The Toronto Blue Jays. On holiday in Newquay when I was a kid I bought a Toronto Blue Jays and LA Rams jersey for cheap from the Trago Mills outlet. They became my teams, plus they played in blue.

Has to be NY Yankees purely on the basis of watching a game there on hols a few years ago. Enjoyed the game for what it was. Can't name too many other teams, never mind follow their scores, whereas I'll look out for NYY when scores being dished out.

Mets - Loved them since the mid 80's, been to see them a few times, once in New York. Thought it was our year 2024, just couldn't get past LA. Team in blue that breaks your heart on a regular basis & has knobhead neighbours, it's just feels right 💙🧡

Went to see them when I went to new york.

Didn't have a clue what was going on, was bored shitless and left about 6 innings in coz it had gone freezing but I say they're my team just coz I associate the Yankees with lfc.

Mets also. Although the only baseball match I've been to was at Yankees stadium - to see the Bronx Bombers get pumped off the Washington Nationals in a playoff game in 2010

Mets for me - Yankees very much feel like the Kopites of the baseball world so was the natural choice. Had high hopes this season and they looked in great nick until about a month ago and they've been stuttering ever since.

San Diego Padres.

An old friend moved to SD about 20 years ago and I’ve been to see the Padres about a dozen times when I’ve visited over the years.

Never won the World Series and main rivals are the LA Dodgers who are the kopites of baseball with scumbag fans.

Padres stadium is superb and they are very well supported - probably because they are the only top tier sports franchise in the city since the chargers left.

My wife’s family are all big Padres fans, her brother played for a Minor league affiliate and they still go often. We went last year but made the mistake of going in the grass area which was a nightmare with kids.

St Louis Cardinals

Wanted to get into it for years but could never understand it properly. Met a Cardinals fan who I fell for and she got me into it.

I went over for a few games in 2014 and absolutely loved it. Have been over loads since and always try and go somewhere else as well as St Louis.

Have been to Chicago (Cubs and White Sox), Atlanta, Boston, Washington DC, Texas Rangers, San Diego and last year Denver. Mainly for Cardinals away games but also a few neutral games.

Saw them play the cubs at West Ham's ground in 2023 too.

In September (the Thursday before the derby) I am flying out to St Louis for the weekend, then San Francisco and coming back via Chicago.

I get why people wouldn't like it and years ago I would have agreed but I love it.

went to see a preseason friendly in florida a few years ago. really enjoyed it. like watching the cricket in feel.

cardinals vs someone else.

so im going to say cardinals. in fact im now a MASSIVE fan because im going to buy a replica top and watch the games on the telly.

i can now put You'll Never Flap Alone (YNFA) at the bottom of every message and email I send and can tell everyone i meet how much they mean to me.

for the avoidance of doubt, this isnt a crack at any of you lot - but it does make me think this is how septics who are rabid kopites get involved. without the pre season friendly of course.

How can you tell if someone is a Kopite? If the hat, scarf, T shirt or tattoo isn't enough of a clue, they will have told you within two sentences. Basically, it's a cult.

Boston Red Sox for me - mainly as I used to live there. Our office used to have season tickets in the bleachers, so used to go a lot. Loved it.

Lived practically over the road from the stadium when I first moved to America and in spite of them generally being rubbish after being great in the 60s-80’s, being in a league with Yankees and Red Sox normally means trouble.

Cubs for me. Started getting into it in 2003 when I was having trouble sleeping. Flicked onto Channel 5 middle of the night probably looking for some soft porn but found Jonny Gould and Dave Lengel. One of the first games I watched saw an unassisted triple play by Rafael Furcal, I didn't have a clue what was going on but slowly learnt the rules. By chance I was going to Chicago that October for a wedding so started to follow the Cubs who were great to watch that year, Sammy Sosa, Kerry Wood and all that. Landed in Chicago a few days after the Bartman ball incident.

I don't watch much of it during the regular season these days, just check the standings every so often. Absolutely devour the post-season in October though, can't beat it.

Baltimore Oriels - only ever won One World Series. Perennial last place occupiers.

My support for them is based on the first ever baseball game I saw on Sky; against the Yankees at their pompous RS-like reign. The Yankees kept pulling ahead, but the Oriels kept pulling the lead back (rather like Everton in the 4-4 cup game) until, after 19 innings it proved too much and they lost (I think) 14-13.

They shouldn’t do stuff like this. There is a Leeds Castle in England, but it’s not in Leeds. There is also a steel company in Sheffield called Chesterfield Special Cylinders. Every time I drive past it I think there must be no end of mix ups with deliveries and things.
