They're a right pair of bell-ends but they're classed as weeds elsewhere and unless they've put chemicals/diesel in to kill the roots, it'll come back as a multi-stem.

Far less outrage about Marten and Gordon leaving a newborn baby's hypothermic and malnourished corpse in a bag-for-life in a shed.

There may be less outrage for those two, but there will also be far less sympathy. It's hard to feel outrage when something is just so beyond the pale that it's difficult to even digest, let alone feel anger.

Trees are important. If they knocked down a listed building, they could be made to rebuild it, like happened to that pub. But replacing a tree of that age like for like is self evidently impossible. If everyone went round doing that, our environment would be ruined.

Totally agreed, but with prisons full and a huge backlog in the court system, not sure it is the best use of the states money or time.
