Got day 1 and 3. Donated to my lad and his mates because I hate Old Trafford. Comfortably the worst test venue

Same here, but I'm going. It's only round the corner (I can see one of the floodlights from where I'm typing this).

I must admit though that I struggle with the cricket crowd, and this might be my last test - I just don't think I'm posh or grammar school enough to appreciate the 'banter'.*

Give me posh biff rugby and cricket behaviour where lads with a different coloured shirt can sit amongst one another without fear of getting their jaw spun by a pack of knucklehead shïthouse hyenas any day.

Dunno you know Santo. I seen one of the biggest most full on scraps I've seen at a Lancashire v Yorkshire t20 a few years ago at Old Trafford.

Made better that the Yorkshire lads were all dressed up as Where's wally.

About 10 to 15 per side and no holds barred.

Great viewing from afar.

Haha you could be right mate.

Another belter non footy related sporting scrap I seen was before a grand final in some boozer near Old Trafford between some St Helens fans/lads and a load of young local scally Mancs.

The St Helens lads absolutely obliterated them and then about 20 minutes later we left and were walking up to the ground and seen the local lads walking back towards the boozer battered and bruised but tooled up to fcuk.

We were half tempted to follow them back just to watch what unfolded.

Well yeah, if it's a choice - but I never go the footy anymore, so this is the only large crowd event I go to these days, and it usually pisses me off.

However, we went one of the world cup games the other season (New Zealand v West Indies), I was in the party stand, and I have to say it was the greatest cricket match and most enjoyable crowd I've ever been to/in. A fantastic day/nighter, with a nail-biting end (a catch on the boundary instead of it going for the match-winning six). Ace!

So actually, I reckon it is just going to watch England and the shite alcohol-fuelled banter that goes with that.

Ended up in the party stand at old Trafford for the ashes the other year. Was a privilege to have one last chance to see broad and for him to hit a milestone but it was hard work.

I was on a number of Barmy Army videos on social media stoney faced as that trumpet wanker was revving his mates up 😆

Much prefer going to lower profile stuff now, more fun and cheaper and easier to get a drink.

That party stand is grim once all the food and cardboard beer carriers start flying about - I told my mate a couple of years ago that I'm never going in there again, and since then, I've been directly opposite it, so far enough away from the main dickheads for it not to annoy me.

I still struggle with the crowd in general though - the older I get the less tolerant I am of people in general

People going in and out for drinks during an over is the worst I’ve experienced at old Trafford. Rudeness off the scale. It’s not hard to wait, overs last a few minutes and there are 90 of them ffs. Main reason I can’t be arsed next week

prices were decent compared to other venues, they wanted £110 for tickets in the hollies at Edgbaston

for you I'd lose my self-esteem
for crewe I'd use junction 16

I paid £160 for me and the lad for day 1 tickets at the oval. Silly prices.
