Like others have said, Benitez's last game away at Norwich. We'd won 1 of the last 12 league games, it was poisonous and we're away at bottom of the league Norwich. 2-0 down at half time in a game where he started Rondon over the then fit again Richarlison. I've never felt despair like it with Everton. What a stain on the club that cunt Benitez is, and those who approved his appointment. Cunts

TCB being appointed. as his tenure went on, that's the only time ive ever felt like if this carries on im jibbing this. Towards the end i wanted us to lose so he would be sacked. It was just awful and felt like rock bottom - TCB was going to relegate us.

It was a disgrace and was undoubtedly the worst period in my 40 years

Me too. I know this sounds like Clive from HR but I told the story at the time and it's true.

I got into a slight row with the thousand yard starers in the Park End on my row at HT. It was my last season as an STH in the Gwladys before moving, but as some may remember it was my first game back after Covid due to my vulnerabilities and my seat was at the back of the LG under the upper, so I got moved for the game so I wouldn't be hemmed in.

Anyroad, I am very emotional generally as it is my first game back and like many of us the pandemic had been hell, and I'd only gone because what was at stake and felt I had to.

Even at HT, like you, I never thought we would lose. I said to someone next to me who was fuming that we just needed one quick after HT and that escalated into me fighting the shit reception to stick 100 on us on Bet365.

Obviously I didn't care about the money but this became a bit of chat on the row and after the third went in and I had got back to my seat after flying down the steps with the lad next to me, the fella who I'd had a trivial dispute with was euphoric and hugs were had all round.

So never goes in my list of worsts, that one.

Yeah or 0-2 v Wimbledon. Both rock bottom moments but thankfully fleeting.

In terms of a prolonged spell it’s hard to see past the past two seasons. Absolutely abject and joyless football bar something like 5 games. Something like 5 out of about 80 games weren’t totally mind numbing shite. That’s quite a feat, Everton!

Burnley winning just before the derby towards the end of the season under Lampard, dropping us into the drop zone and we looked in absolute freefall. Even though we lost our performance actually gave me some hope back.

When Benitez was appointed, that was a proper scraping the barrel low.

Our club lost all semblance of Everton when they appointed him.
Glad it was short lived and we’ve thankfully moved on.

Was living in Germany at the time of that match and remember feeling absolutely gutted on learning the result, had the piss taken out of me for weeks as drubbings like that just didn't seem to happen that often. Finally got over it a few years ago when the shite got done 7-2 by them, I wish I was still in touch with the Kopites who took the piss back then 😂

The week leading to Bournemouth last game was horrific, sleepless nights & wondering how we'd deal with relegation. Not sure it was the worst though, being humped by Leeds the weekend before the Wimbledon game was gut wrenching, knowing it wasn't even in our hands anymore.

There's been too many to mention over the past four or five seasons. My God its been horrific at times.

3-2 away to Burnley after being 2-1 up in a really key game was a real low point.

Said this here before, but my dad went to Goodison for 72 seasons. He was the best blue I've ever known, and that match was the last game he ever saw. The nurses wheeled him down to watch, and he died a few days later. I can't adequately describe my feelings of anger about it.

Not convinced we actually took them lightly Boom. We had plenty of chances first half especially, missed them then got worse, and generally were susceptible to those sort of performances from time to time due to inconsistency issues.

Genuinly mate. I wouldn't take any beaut that fucked us off back regardless of how it went. Some things are more important than winning a game of footy. There were grown men in Rooney shirts when we brought that belter back and many singing Benitez praises when we got him.

In short, most Evertonians are like the majority of football fans. Whoppers.

If the answer is results only then Tranmere, Wigan, 86/89 cup finals. 2012/2015 semis. The defeat to their kids under Ancelotti. Port Vale. Bradford at home. They all rank up there.

But if it's overall then having any beaut who decided the grass was greener back or rancid feckwits like Allardyce and Benitez in charge that rankles more.

Yep, Benitez was probably the darkest moment. Somehow worse than Coventry, Wimbledon, Palace etc.

Closest I have been to sacking it all off and just going to non league games instead. I can accept the team just not being very good but I can't accept that decision on any rational level. The one thing that just made me think "what's the fucking point".

Not sure how old I was, certainly far older than I would have been for them to reduce me to tears but it was a home defeat against Spurs, Ginola inspired IIRC, put us bottom of the league. Thought we were doomed.

Benitez comes top for pure anger, not sure that could ever be beaten.

Appointing Benitez as manager. Never thought the club could be so out of touch with the wishes of the fanbase.

Worse than any result for me. Resulted in plenty of bad ones anyway.
