Beckham* never used to beat a man and he did all right. Getting him the ball in space might help him as opposed to constantly having to control a long ball and having the full back on top of him.
I'm not his biggest fan, but if the plan is to harrass opponents with the ball then he's a better option than Lindstrom who appears to have no clue on that front.
