Most goals and assists for Everton this season seems to disprove this. He's doing fine, and we get the lesser spotted right foot at least once a game.
I personally think he's too left footed to play on the left. We'd often see those crazy runs right across the pitch where he couldn't turn. At least in this role he always has a player in front or to the right to pass to, wherever he is.
