Visited a friend in Aintree Hospital the other day. On the way through the whole corridor was full with beds, some of which contained very frail and elderly folks who didn’t look long for this world. Couldn’t help thinking it would be such a horrible way to spend ones last days - sitting in a hospital corridor being walked past by all kinds of people and feeling like you’re just in the way and unimportant. Modern medicine is incredible at helping us live longer, but if dying becomes as undignified and lonely as this it begs questions.
