I find it odd that the first thing anyone with a public profile who has any mental health problems does is race to the media to tell all and sundry about it in detail. It's always dressed up as helping other people too, good to talk about it in the open etc. However it nearly always has the feel of an attention seeking self-pitying has been who's run out of road of achievements trying to get a media gig where their only qualification is their own experience, alcoholic, drug misuse, depression, gambling etc I find it annoying because there's millions of ordinary people with those issues with absolutely no voice and no services to help them desperately trying to deal with and often tragically failing. Not all public figures are like this but it always feels like the slightest bump in the road for them gets a spot on the Good Morning sofa.
