Tolls were alright, cost us more on the M6 toll. Stayed in Pont Audemer, nice hotel about a mile from the cemetery. Walked the first day, then returned by car with the wreaths and flowers. Visited it four times, poignant, it got a bit dusty. Uncle Jim was special forces, his grave and that of the other 26 allied servicemen is adjacent to those of the resistance members ho have a superb monument in their honour. The British, French and Polish flags were fluttering over the graves, and the rear section was marked by ordnance shells. I’d never seen anything like it in my life. So glad we went.
