If you need to clean burnt black shite off your iron use a paracetamol (tablet obviously, not a plastic capsule). Have the iron on so it’s hot, and ‘colour in’ the burnt bits with a paracetamol. It fizzes and cleans it like brand new. Incredibly satisfying.
