if its been wired in direct to the boiler and the hub attached unit and fixed to the wall nearby then your ok ..If its just been attached to the wall to be "asthetic" then you need a hub to link to the app which usually is part of the package when you get it ???.... A Hub connects your Hive devices together so you can control them from your smartphone. It's a seperate unit that plugs into your broadband router but I think some newer boilers have it built in
