Surprises me that the leaders of the big red clubs were so against this really.

Surely anchoring would stop the inflation in transfer fees and wages being paid by everyone, so more of what those big clubs earn can go to profit and into the owner's back pockets?

Yes eventually it levels the playing field and the big clubs start bringing in less of that sweet, sweet Champions League money, but that's gonna take a while and they would still have their club's international reputation to fall back on to create big commercial revenue in the medium term.

The yank owners of these things are in it for the bucks they can syphon off in the short term, before its time to pass the whole thing onto the next fella, so why not vote for a system that guarantees them higher profits during that period?.....obviously I ambeing way too simplistic here and am about to be shot down in flames.
