Back in the 80s I genuinely thought we were gonna go on to dominate the game in the way that lot had and end up eventually matching them for League titles and European cups.

By the mid 90s I still believed we were just in a blip and we would soon return to our rightful place at the top, inevitably adding at least one Champions League to the cabinet.

By the mid 2000s I thought Moyes was leading a revival that would see Everton rejoin the big 5, and perhaps repeat some of the modest success of the 80s

By the 2010s it was I'd like to at least see us do a Leicester and get one more title and a CL run in before I die.

By the 2020s it was one more trophy, any trophy, in my lifetime, will do.

By 2026 I think just witnessing one more season playing decent football and a derby win might be all I'm gonna get.
