Elephant Whisperers (Netflix) - short documentary on an Indian couple who nurse young orphaned elephants back to health. A lovely watch and moving in parts.

Nickel Boys (MUBI) - film adaptation of the excellent Colson Whitehead novel. Jim Crow era drama where promising young lad gets thrown into a Florida juvenile prison camp through no fault of his own, and the horrors that entails. Jumps between then, shortly after and late 90s, but mostly set in that time. Inevitably not as good as the book, but a really good adaptation and filmed in the first person which is great once you've got used to it.

The Hundred Final - Manchester making a meal of it after largely dominating. An enjoyable watch.

The Mire (Netflix) - Polish crime series partly set in the Cold War era. Only watched one so no opinion yet but early signs are promising.
