I read somewhere that if you add in players from France, Senegal, Cape Verde, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco there are by a long way, more french nationals at this world cup than any other nation.

Since winning the World Cup in 1998, France have won it one more time, plus been beaten finalists twice and also won one and been runners up once in the Euros. So you could arguably say in the modern era France are the best performing side in the world, better than Brazil, Germany, Spain, Italy.

So in all that time what absolute pearls have Everton managed to pick from this golden pool of talent.

Mick Madar.
Sylvain Distin
Morgan Schneiderlin
Neal Maupay
and of course the creme de la creme that is Thierno Barry.

OK we've also had limited success with Olivier Dacourt, Louis Saha and Lucas Digne.
