The more money the game generates, the higher the debt figure. Currently around £5BILLION. Maybe 2-4 clubs will make a profit in a given year,but that's usually because of major player sales, and is usually sandwiched by huge losses. Total losses every year will average around £700million. The only way to make money is by buying a club relatively cheaply, improving it and selling on for big money, or by paying dividends like the Glazers do, which in itself is laughable, as they don't make profits. Maybe they're all hanging on for the ESL guaranteed money circus, or for enough owners to be Yanks, so that they agree to make entry into the PL election only, thereby cutting off the spectre of relegation. It will collapse at some point once TV deals drop off and associated sponsors flee for the hills.
