Re: 16 People On Here Voting For Reform

Unfortunately the public, over the past 45 or so years have fallen into the trap of voting for personalities and "Characters" rather than politicians who'd actually want to help the majority. It's mainly from the right wing parties, but Derek Hatton made the most of his popularity/notoriety and the fact that 90% of the MSM are owned by billionaires with right-wing views. And this imbalance does lead to most people being persuaded by them. It's why a large number of people who would not personally benefit from Conservative government voted Tory - because the likes of Thatcher and Johnson banged the drum for Britain against the EU and when the Falklands War happened in 1982, Thatcher turned from being them most unpopular PM ever into the most popular by raising the old British national bloodlust to send a taskforce against an vastly inferior military, backed by a willing Press with their "KILL AN ARGIE, WIN A METRO!" type headlines. In a way it's like being manager of the RS - Just tell the dopes what they want to hear, never admit you were the second best team on the day - just pump out loads of "We wuz Robbed! That Referee's never reffing us again!" bollocks and the hordes will lap it all up. SO it is with the Tories and Reform. Get a domineering "Character" to front you and tell the lower orders what they want to hear. That's why we had Large proportions of the population who'd never vote Tory in the 80's proudly stating "I vote for Maggie, I do!", not "Vote Tory"- "vote for Maggie". Then seven years ago we had the "I vote for Boris, me" brigade as the blond baby-making buffoon, weaves his merry way through Brexit - knowing the harm it would do, but not caring because it wouldn't affect him. Now we have Nazi Nige, the Frog-faced Fuhrer convincing Dazzas and Wazzas and Shazzas that all their woes are down to some poor Kurdish sod fleeing to our shores for a "better" life, and not because the Millionaires who run the companies they work for have decided that they'll save a bundle by re=locating to somewhere with lower taxes. And all this time Labour try to court the Barclays and Murdochs who'd hate them regardless of whatever they'd promise and the middle classes with an "Honest, we're not Socialists, not really, we'll see you all right, just vote for us, please! We'll be your mates and you can have first go on our bikes." line and still wonder why it's not getting them anywhere.
