- Acknowledges that Everton were until fairly recently in football terms, one of the most successful clubs and that they should be competing for trophies, particularly going for the cups given how palace and Newcastle managed it last season.
- knows it’s down to the players and manager to get the crowd going at home and starts games accordingly, rather than complaining because 50k home fans don’t act the same as the hardcore away fans do when on the lash.
- willing to drop underperforming players regardless of how favoured they usually are, and gives lads who come in to cover injuries, suspensions etc, a run in the team if they do well, rather than reverting immediately back.
- happy to take the resulting fines from regularly calling out the two tiered officiating we see all the time between cartel and none cartel clubs.
