If you are going to have quality wing backs, they need to be better at both defending and attacking than the current pair. Patterson has been with us a while and has Coleman and Baines surely passing on their expertise. Admittedly, Moyes got his tactics spot on in the second half although "rolling the dice" might have been overstretching it.
I thought O'Brien was excellent tonight. I'd prefer him at CB but when he drifted to the right he put in some crunching tackles often high up the field, and he has an under-rated crossing ability.
