There's no doubt he could be more dynamic but I think you aren't giving him any credit for his decision making.

He knows full well that with what hes got around him in the team that if he tries to burst into the box theres not gonna be anyone running with him to take defenders away or to give him a lay off into a goal scoring position so he's just going to end up losing the ball down a blind alley.

So most of the time he decides he can either hold onto the ball until three defenders converge on him amd he then has a quick lay off to a team mate in a better position or he sends it backwards to keep the team in possession and we go again.

It's unspectacular stuff but his stats show hes still our most effective player.
