It seems really obvious to me why he is the way he is. The guy should have got some help a long time ago.
What becomes obvious in his book is that the whole trans issue is just a proxy war for his own issues. The strongest anger and distress he writes about in his book is being isolated from his 'friends' after he started Twitter campaign.
This links back to his childhood and being shunned by others and his dad being horrible to him and not having any friends until he got into comedy and now they were all 'adandoning' him.
Not once does he question why or wonder about their views. He just says they're all weak and failed him.
For someone who's into comedy and writing and the human condition, he's got a really jarring, unreflective and binary view of the world.
His interest in saving women is not the driving factor behind whatever it is he thinks he's up to these days.
