Presumably to give themselves an advantage.

Everton Football Club has been asked to share the following important information with supporters travelling to the Stadium of Light for our Premier League fixture on Monday 3 November (kick-off 8pm).


Sunderland AFC has implemented enhanced search and safety procedures for ALL visiting fans this season.


Away supporters are located in the third tier of the North Stand at the Stadium of Light, positioned directly above home supporters. Due to previous incidents (not Everton fans) involving objects being thrown from this area — which have resulted in injuries to home fans including children — Sunderland AFC has introduced a robust and comprehensive search regime for all away attendees.
Coins - The Stadium of Light operates as a cashless venue. Any coins discovered during searches will be placed into sealed collection buckets, with proceeds donated to a charity nominated by the visiting club.

Vapes - Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited within the stadium. Any such devices found during searches will be confiscated.
Safeguarding Measures


All individuals, including children, will be subject to search on entry. Sunderland AFC has confirmed that appropriate safeguarding procedures will be in place to ensure supervision and sensitivity during searches involving minors.
