Do you not think they kicked footballs against walls before some horror of an officer turned them into what they became?
I know loads of lads who joined up because jobs were scarce. All probably hanging flags at the moment.
People are largely the product of their circumstances and environment. Having grown up at school with fellas who joined up - these weren't psychopaths as kids they just fell for the posters and war films. What happened after that is on the system.
