The level of support and participation in rugby in South Wales has always been vastly over-stated, but as you say there did at least seem to be a pipeline of talent before, say, 2020.

Even by that stage, though, Swansea and Cardiff becoming significantly better at football in the 2000s and 2010s had definitely put a dent in it.

Christ, going back even further, even John Hartson getting transferred from Luton to Arsenal for £2m put a dent in it in the Swansea area. F___ killin ewself playin rugby, isn't it, mush.
