He played 4 games for Bayern and 13 on loan at relegated Valladolid. He looks like he's been signed more with an eye on the future. That's fine, but in my view there was a more pressing requirement for someone ready to step straight in and properly challenge/overtake Mykolenko. Those for the future can follow when we're ready.
