Had my right knee done January 2024, I was young to be having it done still being in my 40s, I’ll be totally honest, I really struggled with it initially, probably more to do with me being a soft twat more than anything. Had it done under epidural and once that wore off I was a proper wimp for bending it, but that’s an absolute must to help your recovery. I think because it’s a common operation it’s forgotten how drastic it is, I’m glad I was awake while I had it done but a gentle procedure it is not! The kneeling thing is weird, it’s hard to avoid a bit of nerve damage so you get a bit of numbness but it’s nothing major. Back to mountain biking, PT sessions and even the odd 5k now, I am glad I had it done now, I was in bits with the bastard before it was done. Do as your told, do your rehab, make ice your best mate and you’ll soon be wondering what the fuss was about. Good luck with it.
