If you don't have a balanced diet then you might want to take specific vitamins to make up for that, and if you do that via a multi vitamin then I cant imagine it will do you harm (again unless a medical professional tells you otherwise, I'm not a doctor).
And by a balanced diet I don't mean you have to be eating like a health freak, just a normal amount of fruits and veg and that, its surprising how little of that kind of stuff you need to meet the guidelines, a shed load of take aways and ultra processed stuff will cause other types of problems (Obesity, heart disease and the like) but vitamin deficiency without an underlying medical problem is quite hard to get to in the modern western world.
