I don't think anyone is saying it's 'the jews' other than you. People are using Israel as shorthand for the Israeli government.

Spin it the other way, imagine if anytime some criticised the someone popped on to criticise the Rwandan's government's involvement in the DRC, someone else popped up to say why are you blaming it on black people?

I reckon there will be plenty of Israelis who feel pretty pissed off that their government allowed this to happen knowing the loss of life. Many of them affected personally.
