Get ready for some very unsurprising stats:

Liverpool benefited from 9 penalties last year all before they had won the title and gave them an extra 11 points in turning 5 draws to wins and a defeat to a draw. The other 2 games they won 2-0 with the benefit of a penalty. In other words they managed to get penalties when it mattered.

They had 2 given against them. One before they won the title but against Southampton and the other against Chelsea in the last minute of a game that they lost 3-1 anyway after winning the title. In other words even the 2 penalties given against them made no difference.

Funny that.

Arsenal were awarded 2 penalties and had 3 given against them.
Everton were awarded 2 penalties. 1 being against Arsenal...
