But, can you imagine what Nice old men in the late 70's thought of kids sticking drawing pins in their noses, ripping their clothes up, dying their hair pink, putting it in a mohawk AND making music that was just shouting whilst acting like bellends (lets face it they did, even if some of it was pretty fuking sound)

Especially when these old boys grew up with people who dressed smart and could genuinely sing and play instruments.
