No surprise given one of their stands is also called the Kop.
To be fair though, I live in the town (city) nowadays and it has improved quite a bit. It's far less moody. There seems to be more town pride, things are cleaner, businesses are a little busier. Might be nothing to do with the footy team, but there seems to be renewed investment in the town. People are proud to live here, inexplicably.
I even see tourists walking round occassionally, which is very odd since theres fook all else here to do.
Weird seeing A-list celebrities walking round town on matchdays sometimes as well.
