Vinyl aficionados and music fans will soon be able to go to the UVinyl project's website to have some input on which albums get produced. But not all hit albums will be available through this crowdfunded project. After saying on its Facebook page that Nirvana's "MTV Unplugged" and Sonic Youth's "Goo" could be included in the project, Universal later clarified that those albums aren't part of the project.
If you thought vinyl was long dead, think again. You can still buy brand new high-end turntables at fine music stores for hundreds of dollars more than an iPod. And it's not just the playback devices that are in hot demand - vinyl sales hit a 15-year high this year, according to the Register.
Would you sign up to buy an obsolete record? Do you think the recent craze around vinyl will last?
