The Cat Scratch Fever phoned in his plea during a District Court hearing in Ketchikan on Tuesday. Nugent has agreed to pay a $10,000 fine and he has been forbidden from hunting in Alaska or any national forest for a year. The judge ruled that the rocker must also film a public service announcement about responsible hunting.

Nugent told the court, "I cherish my hunting time and relationships with the people and the wildlife of Alaska. I'm afraid I was blindsided by this, and I sincerely apologize to everyone for it."

In his show Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild, he was shown tracking the bear and shooting an arrow at the beast in May, 2009, but court records state he failed to locate that animal and days later, he shot and killed another black bear. Alaskan law dictates that hunters can only kill one black bear per year in designated areas. They must also track down wounded animals.

Nugent's latest controversy comes a week after he met with Secret Service agents to discuss remarks he made about President Barack Obama and Democrats during a National Rifle Association rally earlier this month.
