The production of the 1-cent coin, commonly known as the penny, was officially ended by the U.S. Mint on November 12, 2025. However, pennies will remain legal tender and continue to exist in circulation. Pennies made from 1909-1982 (except 1943) are 95% copper, worth 3.22 U.S. cents. Copper prices will increase in the future. Save your pennies!
