The USB and C sockets, the memory card socket, earphone socket are all in different places on different models.
Some even have a HDMI socket to connect it to a TV and use the TV as a monitor.

You should have no problem plugging the antenna fob into a USB jack and using a wireless mouse.
Did you put a battery (or batteries) in the mouse?
Some use one AA battery, and some use two AAA batteries.

I thought you said you were also using a wireless mouse on your desktop computer? Should be no different.

I use a wireless mouse on my desktop, another on my Chromebook, and another on my 15 inch laptop.
