Why can't you use a mouse?
You need to use a mouse on a Chromebook.
That little silver thing is a Touch Pad.
It is Totally Worthless and it should have never been invented. 
A USB mouse if you already haven't got one for it.
The little USB fob (transmitter antenna for mouse) goes into one of the USB jacks to make the mouse work. I couldn't live with out it.
