24th June 1822 illegitimate John Boyce Masters was born, son of Anne Masters, servant of Kingsbridge.
7th July 1822 Baptism of John Boyce Masters, at Kingsbridge, by Thomas Young, rector of Dodbrook. His mother, Anne Masters, c26yrs was desc as a servant of Kingsbridge.
I believe his grandparents, John Masters & Jane, lived at Malborough. It was not uncommon practise that the name of the baby's father was obvious by the choice of first names. Does the following look correct ?
At Kingsbridge on 7 July 1822 baptism of illigitimate John Boyce Masters, son of Ann Masters. At Malborough he married in 1855 to Sarah Jane Quick, on the certificate he states his father's name was John Boyce. It's this that has led me to John Boys b1794 at Charleton, but at Charleton there were 2 babies both named John Boys, baptised within a month of each other.
I think my JOHN BOYS was bap at Charleton on 6 April 1794, son of William, and Jenny Boys. (The other John Boys was baptised a month later, on 4th May 1794, s/o Richard and Elizabeth nee Jarvis.)
But whichever one it was, my John was baptised Charleton in 1794.

What was his father's occupation on the marriage cert?
Does that fit with either of the John BOYS you have looked at?

Have you checked them both out on census? checked deaths? and marriages? did parents eventually marry?
