Hello I wonder if anyone can help me. I have a Military general service medal to a soldier who fought in Spain under Wellington . His name was Bernard Morgan ,a blacksmith . he was born in Belfast in 1787 , joined up in the Royal artillery in 1805 , and as far as I know worked s a blacksmith , for 50 years , in Stoke village Plymouth , Devon. He lived in Park villa lane , with his wife Anne , and had five children . He died in London during a visit , when he was 71 . He must have done well , because his children were given an education , even the girls !. I know his eldest son was called William , and eldest daughter Mary . that's it , I have gained this from his army papers. If anyone can give me any information regarding his time in Stoke , i.e. where the forge was , did his son and nephew carry it on , did it survive the development around central park , is it still there as a private house ? . I would appreciate any scrap I can get of those 50 years . Thanking you in anticipation.
