Cecil Raymond Spiers

I live in Canada and have been researching my UK family history for many years. I have been informed that there was an article concerning my uncle, Cecil Raymond Spiers, in the Devon and Exeter Gazette of 13 July 1945. Can anyone suggest how I might view this article.

Finally got to see the article but it is for a Raymond Spiers, and not my uncle. Back to the drawing board.

The British Newspaper Archive appears to have the article you seek in two newspapers, the Exeter and Plymouth Gazette & the Western Times, both dated 13 July 1945. When you register with the
website you can view 3 pages for free. The articles are under the heading “Fields & Sports” & mentions the name Raymond Spiers.

Have you googled Devon and Exeter Gazette? I did and found possible site, newspapers.com, not sure if there is a fee, but would be cheaper than an airfare!!
