Oh right! Well the Vogwill name (Vogwell, Fogwell, etc.) originates in Devon; I've uncovered many generations. (Known as "Foghille” in the 1330 tax rolls, meaning “hill with fog-pasture".) They went north for more mining work (I'm guessing) before emigrating to the US (1881) after a big coal mine disaster in Durham.
In Manaton there exist Vogwell farm, Vogwell down & lake, and there's also a Vogwell cottage. Vogwills (my ancestors) are buried in Whitchurch and other villages around Tavistock and Dartmoor.
