My mother's family name was Duer. In my research, I have traced my ancestry to Vincent Dure (1625-1711) and wife, Mary Stone (1635-1694), of Charleton (St. Mary) parish. Their son, Thomas (1663-1709) (my 6th great grandfather) emigrated to Pennsylvania c. 1683. I would very much like to trace earlier generations of Dure/Duer and Stone in Devonshire or elsewhere. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
First, thank you Sally and Joan for your responses. They tend to confirm my research to date. There is a chance that I will be able to spend a short time in Devon this summer. Does anyone have suggestions for local research opportunities? Thank you

There are 3 other Baptisms of siblings to Vincent 1625, starting 1620 in Charleton. 3 baptisms say just Thomas, but Vincent's says Thomas and Elizabeth. There is a marriage of a Thomas Dean (sic) and Elizabeth Taylor, daughter of John Taylor. This marriage is transcribed as 17.01.1620, but should be 1619. The "Dean" transcribed from marriage looks more like Door than Dean to me. There aren't any Dean baptisms around 1620-1625 in Charleton. There is a baptism of a Thomas Deere 23.08.1589. son of Robert and Christiane. There is a baptism of an Elizabeth Taylor, 18.04.1598, dau. of John and Joane. There is baptism of a Mary Stone 02.10.1636, dau. of Moses and Isach (sic). There is a marriage of a Moses Stone on 07.05.1629. to Sarah. This has been transcribed as Sarah but looks like Isaach. If you have access to Find My Past, all this is on there. Sally
there is a baptism in Charleton of a Vincent Dure in 1625 and this can be found on the Find My Past website which names his parents. This is early for English records so there may not be much else to find as the records may be missing
