A heavily pregnant Mary Wreford married William Marshall, cabinet maker at St Mary Major, Exeter on 20 August 1815, witness John Wreford.
Mary died 1835 in Exeter, St Paul's when described aged 41yrs.
Trying to find her parents I have looked at various possibilities but have gone round in circles.I would be really great full for a fresh pair of eyes.

Could she have died after they moved to Tormoham?/Torquay?

Perhaps they did not come from Exeter, if it was a shotgun wedding!! Perhaps John was her brother. I would look for a John Wreford, born 1780-1790s and see if he had a sister Mary.
Well done for eliminating the other family.

Having discounted Mary Wreford d/o Robert and Hannah, can anyone spot another Mary Wreford born c1794. The witness at her St Mary Major wedding to William Marshall in August 1815, was John Wreford.

There is a marriage of John Wreford to Fanny Cox at St Mary Major 11.10.1818, could have been her brother?
There are a lot of John Wreford's in Exeter, matter of elimination I think, find the parents and see if there are any siblings called Mary.

Thanks Judith for your comments. As you say such a lot of possibilities!
I made such a huge mistake with this line of my research. I have multiple files of a Wreford family, which took years of research. I had Wills, maps, pictures, deeds of a farm, information about Exeter pubs, newspaper cutters, overseer accounts etc, etc. Spent years building up the picture. But now realise Robert Wreford and Hannah are not my Mary Wreford's family!! I was working on married in St Mary Major and there at an appropriate earlier date found baby baptised with the name Mary Wreford.

We all do it!! We thought we had found my great grandfather, went off to Dorset, did a b&B went to the record office, loads of information, then a few months later found him in Sussex!! That's the trouble with "common" Names!! The b&b hosts were lovely, we had a good time with them, as they were also into family history, and a nice break was had!!
So don't worry, its all a learning curve.
Back to Mary. Possible that she is on records for Exeter that are not on line. There were a lot of parishes in Exeter, so you will need to check them
out, also could have been nonconformist.
Same with burials at Tormoham, check them out, possible that they moved there after birth of youngest child, before her death. Not sure whether all on line.
I was looking for a brother, but could be that it was her father as a witness.

I will keep looking!! So far my William Marshall (Mary's husband) is always identified as a cabinet maker. The Marshall siblings in Exeter were cabinet makers/carpenters. Bit of a bad lot - in newspapers for inflicting injury on an apprentice, fires in yard and slow response due to drunken behaviour etc. I wonder if my William, the eldest, wanted to distance himself from the others, hence moved to 'Torquay'. Instead of working in the Marshall family business, he was one of several working for a Mr Burt. His daughter Mary Anne b1815 was by 1841 living with her intended spouse and family in Exmouth. I think his son b1818 went to London. But I'm not at all sure. William Marshall in 'Torquay' married in 1837 and had 2 further children. They are easy to follow up.

Have you got the right death? THere is a tree on line which has Mary Wreford baptised 14.2.1790 daughter of Robert and Hannah baptised St Mary Major, and married there 20.8.1815 to William Bindon Marshall, but another burial is given 1822.
Not looked for John Wreford, could be a brother?

Maybe I have made a wrong assumption. Who was buried in 1822 at St Mary Major? Could it have been Mary Marshall nee Wreford (possibly in childbirth) or do you think it was an infant burial in 1822.

I have now found Robert Wreford and Hannah's family. Would appear they had 3 infants Elizabeth born July 1787, Mary bap 1790 St Mary Major and William bap 1792 at St Mary Major.
But then at St Sidwell's Elizabeth died March 1792 aged 4yrs and Mary died April 1792 aged 3yrs and Robert Carter, victualler died June 1793, again at St Sidwell. Robert wrote a will in June 1792 and leaves his estate to his wife and silver spoons to his son William.
